Lessons from over 70,000 pupils on how to implement sustainable strategies to improve school attendance
Pupil absence remains a deep and ingrained challenge for many schools, without easy solutions.
To address this, ImpactEd Evaluation launched Understanding Attendance, a project helping schools and Trusts to identify the underlying drivers of pupil absence in their settings, and supporting them to assess the impact of their interventions.
This second report in the Understanding Attendance series presents new findings for the system, offering additional data and contextual information to enhance our understanding of attendance drivers. It spotlights case studies and resources that have been effective across the UK, drawing on attendance data from over 300,000 pupils and survey data from over 70,000 pupils over the course of the 23-24 academic year.
Report 2 draws on findings from the 23-24 academic year, incorporating data on the drivers of pupil absence and emerging trends from schools who are making a sustained difference to pupil attendance.
